About Five Nights at Freddy’s

Five Nights at Freddy’s puts you behind the desk of a night security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. You never walk the halls and you never fight anything. Your entire job is a swivel chair, a tablet full of camera feeds, two doors and a power meter that drains a little faster every time you use any of them.

The animatronics move only when you are not watching, so the game becomes a memory puzzle wrapped in dread: where was Bonnie last time you checked, how long has Chica been missing from the kitchen feed, and can you afford one more light check before 6 AM. Each of the five nights adds more aggressive routines, which is why the game stays tense long after you know the layout.

Everything runs in the browser here, so there is nothing to install and your progress through the nights picks up right where you left it in the same session.

Controls

  • Mouse – the whole game is played with the pointer
  • Click the tablet at the bottom of the screen to raise the camera feed, click again to lower it
  • Click a room name on the camera map to switch feeds
  • Click the door buttons on the left and right of the office to seal a doorway
  • Click the light buttons to check the blind spot right outside each door

How to play

  1. Start Night 1 and let the phone call play – it explains the mechanics while the animatronics are still slow.
  2. Check the cameras in short bursts. The tablet is safe, but every second it is up is a second you are not watching the doors.
  3. Track Bonnie on the left hallway and Chica on the right. When either disappears from the feeds, use the door light before you decide anything.
  4. Close a door the moment you see a face in the window, and open it again as soon as the light shows an empty corridor.
  5. Watch the power percentage in the bottom left. Reaching 6 AM with power to spare beats surviving on a locked door at 20%.
  6. Repeat through Night 5, where all four animatronics are active at once.

Tips that actually help

  • Foxy is punished by neglect, not attention – check Pirate Cove every so often or he sprints down the west hall.
  • Freddy only moves in the dark, so a lit camera feed on the stage buys you time.
  • A closed door costs power continuously. Closing it for two seconds at the right moment is cheaper than leaving it shut for a minute.
  • The office lights are the cheapest information in the game. Use them before the tablet whenever the threat could already be at the door.
  • If the power dies, keep still and quiet – there is a small chance Freddy’s music box runs out before he reaches you.

FAQ

Is Five Nights at Freddy’s free to play here?

Yes. The game runs in the browser on this page, with no download, install or account.

Can I play FNAF on a phone or tablet?

It works on a touchscreen because every action is a tap, though the small door and light buttons are easier to hit on a desktop screen.

How many nights are there?

Five main nights, plus the harder Night 6 and the Custom Night that unlock once you have beaten the campaign.

Why do the animatronics move when I close the camera?

That is the core rule of the game – they only advance while they are unobserved, which is what makes checking the tablet a trade-off rather than a free action.
